Moca Chain is an EVM-compatible Layer-1 blockchain specifically engineered for decentralized digital identity and credential management. Announced on June 25, 2025, Moca Chain addresses the systemic fragmentation of digital identities by enabling users to manage a single, interoperable, and chain-agnostic digital identity (Moca ID). By consolidating digital assets, credentials, and reputations under a unified identity, Moca Chain offers enterprises and consumers a privacy-centric, user-controlled alternative to traditional, siloed identity solutions.
Strategically seeded by Animoca Brands, a recognized global leader in blockchain technology, digital entertainment, and the open metaverse, Moca Chain leverages immediate access to Animoca’s extensive network, encompassing over 540 portfolio companies and a combined addressable audience exceeding 700 million users globally. Key partnerships secured prior to launch include integrations with SK Planet (South Korea’s largest loyalty rewards platform with 28 million verified users), OneFootball (a global sports media platform with 200 million verified users), Soneium (Sony-backed Ethereum Layer-2 blockchain), and Plume Network (a purpose-built blockchain for institutional-grade real-world asset finance), underpinning day-one scale across multiple verticals.
The Moca Chain ecosystem is further strengthened through strategic products designed for streamlined onboarding and integration. Mocaverse has developed the AirKit SDK, a modular software development kit that enables enterprises and developers to integrate Moca Chain’s identity infrastructure into existing Web2 and Web3 applications.
The protocol’s native omni-chain token, MOCA, serves as the fundamental economic incentive mechanism within the Moca Chain ecosystem. It is utilized for credential issuance, verification, governance participation, and incentivizing secure, privacy-preserved data sharing among users, partners, and network stakeholders.

Current digital identity management is characterized by systemic fragmentation and widespread privacy vulnerabilities. Users must maintain multiple digital identities, repeatedly providing sensitive personal information across numerous siloed platforms, applications, and services. Each of these services manages isolated databases with varying standards of security and privacy, resulting in redundancy, limited interoperability, and heightened exposure to data breaches.
Moca Chain addresses these challenges by creating an open, user-centric identity network designed to shift control toward unified, user-owned digital identities. At the core of this approach is a universal embedded account system enabling users to securely store, selectively share, and verify credentials across diverse ecosystems. This reduces redundant onboarding processes and mitigates privacy risks by minimizing unnecessary data exposure.
Within Moca Chain’s infrastructure, each user maintains a single unified identity framework, called Moca ID, consolidating digital assets, identity credentials, and reputational data. Leveraging this aggregated identity, credential-based rewards and incentives can be given to users based on their verified interactions across connected ecosystems.
Founding Team

Moca 1.0 laid the groundwork for Mocaverse’s initial culture community through the strategic launch of 8,888 profile picture NFTs (PFPs) in early 2023. Each unique NFT, termed a “Moca,” acted as a membership pass, granting holders gated access to exclusive community events, governance votes, special content, and early participation opportunities in partner initiatives. Emphasizing community culture and brand identity, this phase utilized an experience point (XP)-based loyalty mechanism to incentivize active engagement, content creation, and referrals. Higher XP granted dedicated holders greater rewards, access to exclusive events, and increased benefits within partner collaborations, solidifying member loyalty.
Two key technological innovations were central to this phase: Moca ID, a soulbound decentralized identity (DID) system implemented through non-transferable NFTs, and Realm Points (RP), an onchain reputation framework designed to reward community participation. Moca IDs broadened user participation, bridging Web2 users into Web3 through simplified wallet and email-based onboarding. Meanwhile, Realm Points incentivized meaningful community engagement by driving user participation in quests, staking activities, and cross-partner initiatives.
During Moca 2.0, Mocaverse also expanded its partner network via the above-mentioned technological innovations, strategically integrating Animoca Brands’ portfolio companies and protocols into the ecosystem.
Ultimately, Moca 2.0 catalyzed the project’s evolution from an NFT-centric community under Moca 1.0 into a comprehensive platform for interoperable identity and reputation systems, laying the foundational architecture required for the large-scale digital identity infrastructure introduced in Moca 3.0.
Moca 3.0 represents Mocaverse’s strategic evolution into a chain-agnostic, credential-based digital identity infrastructure powered by Moca Chain. At its core, Moca Chain is a permissionless vehicle for managing digital identity across different ecosystems. Its primary function is to enable users and partner ecosystems to create universal embedded accounts, securely consolidating digital assets, identity credentials, and reputation data.
Through Moca Chain, an interoperable experience is created: one that prioritizes onboarding through consumer apps and decentralizes consumer verifiable data for all users through a distributed credential storage system. Rather than platforms maintaining isolated user databases, Moca Chain enables each ecosystem to create its own credential framework with verifiable credentials and onchain reputation systems, all unified under one universal account structure.
This architecture functions as a layer for credentialed identity, with AirKit serving as the interface for cross-ecosystem universal accounts. Users generate a single AIR (Account, Identity, Reputation) account that aggregates credentials, reputation data, and digital assets across all connected platforms and blockchains.
Moca 3.0 also fundamentally changes how partners operate by enabling collaborative approaches rather than siloed competition. Instead of working with isolated user bases, projects can now solve problems together or tap into cross-ecosystem user bases through credential-based targeting.
This suggests new operational models, including:
In addition to these integrations, Mocaverse has introduced AIR Shop, the first loyalty system anchored to verifiable onchain credentials. AIR Shop enables users to leverage their digital identities to unlock global rewards spanning travel, premium retail, curated experiences, and sweepstakes. By anchoring access to verifiable credentials, AIR Shop extends the utility of Moca ID beyond ecosystem integrations and into real-world benefits.
The monetization framework enables partners to contribute user data in a zero-knowledge privacy-preserved fashion. Partners earn revenue when their issued credentials are verified by other platforms, creating sustainable economics around data sharing without compromising user privacy. Issuers set verification fees paid in MOCA tokens whenever their credentials are queried. This transforms user data from a competitive moat into a collaborative revenue stream, where platforms benefit from both issuing credentials and leveraging credentials from other ecosystems.
Moca 3.0’s primary advancement centers on the “one universal user account” concept powered by AirKit on Moca Chain. This universal account automatically synchronizes across all connected platforms when users earn reputation points, update profile information, or generate new credentials. When a user earns a loyalty badge on SK Planet’s OK Cashbag app, completes KYC verification with a financial service, or achieves a gaming milestone, these credentials automatically become available across their entire network of connected applications.
AirKit (Account, Identity, Reputation) is a modular software development kit (SDK) that bridges the Moca infrastructure and end-users. This SDK abstracts away blockchain complexity, allowing for “plug-and-play” integration across different blockchains and dApps for shared logins and onchain transactions under one universal account. The SDK is used by partners to issue embedded user accounts with verifiable credentials, with Moca Chain allowing for credential minting, tracking, and rewards.
AirKit’s modular architecture is designed for integration not simply with blockchain apps, but also with Web2 environments. For example, SK Planet’s OK Cashbag app (a Web2 mobile app) integrated AirKit to allow its users to create AIR accounts without leaving the native platform. It supports multiple programming languages and platforms to reach developers where they are.
A significant component in AirKit’s architecture stack is the use of Zero-Knowledge proofs and encryption by default. When a credential through AirKit is issued, it is encrypted with the user’s public key so that no one else (not the issuer, nor Moca Chain) can read it without user consent. If a verifier wants to check on an item or field, AirKit invokes the ZK verification process, where the user’s device (or a secure module) generates the associated proof.
Catalyzed by AirKit functionality, Moca Chain leverages several key elements of its end-to-end identity stack:
Moca Chain operates as a three-party ecosystem spanning several key digital sectors, such as gaming, metaverse platforms, IP, NFTs, and educational technologies. Issuers, verifiers, and users collaborate through economically aligned incentives rather than competing for user acquisition.
Moca Chain’s economic model creates value for its multiple participants:
Advancing on its ecosystem model, Moca Chain’s credential verification process follows a structured eight-step flow that maintains user privacy while enabling cross-platform verification:
MOCA serves as the native token of Moca Chain, powering the protocol’s core infrastructure across all identity-related operations. As more credentials are issued, claimed, and verified throughout the ecosystem, greater amounts of MOCA are required to be held and consumed by network participants.
As credentials are issued, verified, or queried across the network, MOCA is required for multiple actions across identity, storage, and verification workflows:
In terms of key verticals and partnerships, Moca Chain has actively partnered with organizations across different industries to demonstrate and grow its identity network. The blockchain has successfully established an addressable user base through partners like SK, One Football, Soneium, and Plume Network, among others.

SK Planet, a South Korean tech company operating OK Cashbag (the country’s largest loyalty rewards program), partnered with Animoca Brands in late 2024. In February 2025, they launched OKI Club, a Web3-powered membership program within the OK Cashbag mobile app, representing the first large-scale enterprise deployment of Moca’s AirKit in a consumer application.
Through AirKit, SK Planet issues AIR accounts to millions of users directly within the OK Cashbag app. When users join OKI Club, they receive a Moca wallet (AIR account) attached to their profile, providing blockchain-based rewards and assets without leaving the familiar app environment. Users earn MOCA tokens and other onchain rewards (NFTs, partner tokens) by participating in OKI Club activities, supplementing traditional OCB points. AirKit manages wallet creation and token custody via secure elements and connects to Moca Chain for credential issuance. Notably, user credentials also allow for participation in activities outside of the SK ecosystem.
OKI Club generated over 600,000 pre-registrations before launch, demonstrating strong user interest. The integration brings interoperable digital identity to mainstream audiences without crypto experience, with users acquiring Web3 identities and building an onchain reputation without realizing it.
For SK Planet, MOCA became the first crypto token used within their internet services, adding new value and liquidity dimensions to their points system. SK plans to expand MOCA usage across multiple apps, from shopping to payments.
The March 2025 partnership between Animoca Brands and Soneium integrates Sony’s enterprise blockchain infrastructure with Animoca’s identity layer technology. Soneium, built by Sony Block Solutions Labs on Optimism’s Superchain, operates as an Ethereum Layer-2 blockchain targeting enterprise applications and cultural IP monetization.
The integration centers on Moca Chain’s AirKit SDK being natively embedded within Soneium’s infrastructure. This allows users to maintain embedded accounts, unique identities, and credentials across multiple dApps on the network. Sony’s Jun Watanabe (Chairman of Sony Block Solutions Labs) noted the collaboration establishes “an identity and reputation layer on Soneium” with anime presenting “immense potential” as one of the largest entertainment industries.
The partnership positions Sony’s entertainment IP portfolio as a testing ground for Web3 identity solutions, shifting traditionally siloed fan engagement data toward an interoperable ecosystem where loyalty can be verified and rewarded across multiple touchpoints.

This transforms traditional subscription-based content distribution models into dynamic, engagement-based access systems that reward genuine fan participation.
The platform supports new revenue models for anime creators and studios through token-based reward systems, exclusive merchandise access based on verified fan status, and community-driven content funding mechanisms. Anime characters, storylines, and visual assets can be tokenized and made available across multiple applications within the Soneium network, with access controlled through smart contracts that verify user credentials and platform partnerships.
OneFootball, a global football media platform with over 200 million monthly active users, partnered with Moca Chain to launch Football ID. This credential system represents a user’s fandom and engagement in football, leveraging Moca Chain’s infrastructure to create onchain records of football-related activities, including supported clubs, match attendance (linked via ticket NFTs), and participation in fantasy leagues or prediction games.
Football ID allows OneFootball to provide verifiable rewards and recognition for fan loyalty. The credential system tracks long-term supporter status and engagement history, unlocking special access and benefits. OneFootball is developing features including fan club memberships, prediction market participation, and fantasy football achievements tied to Football ID.
Fan reputation extends beyond OneFootball’s platform, allowing other sports platforms or clubs to recognize it.
This partnership showcases how Web3 identity can transform intangible fandom into a tangible, tradeable reputation, demonstrating practical applications for blockchain-based fan engagement systems.
Plume Network, a Layer-1 blockchain focused on real-world asset finance (RWAfi), partnered with Moca Chain on March 12, 2025, to integrate Moca’s identity infrastructure with Plume’s RWA ecosystem. The collaboration brings real-world financial assets (e.g., real estate, bonds, invoices) onchain in a compliant manner while leveraging Moca’s identity solutions.
The partnership pursues two primary objectives:
Plume will adopt AirKit SDK, allowing Plume-based dApps to issue and verify credentials (e.g., KYC tokens, proof of asset ownership) via Moca Chain. Moca’s Identity Oracle will relay verifications to Plume when needed. The integration creates a privacy-preserved identity system for compliant DeFi, advancing “self-sovereign and privacy-preserved digital identities” in finance.
The 0G Foundation, a decentralized AI project, utilized MocaList (Mocaverse’s token launchpad in collaboration with CoinList) to conduct a token sale for its AI node operators. This integration demonstrates value-added opportunities for Moca ID holders in Web3 launches rather than consumer app integration.
0G Foundation offered Moca ID holders early access and rewards in its token sale, including guaranteed allocations and/or bonuses. This showcases how partners can leverage Moca’s community and reputation system to bootstrap their projects while rewarding Moca’s user base with privileged access to new launches.
Open Campus, a Web3 education initiative with its EDU token, partners with Moca Chain to issue “.edu” identities and verifiable academic credentials using AirKit infrastructure. The collaboration creates Open Campus ID, a self-sovereign education profile that records degrees, skills, course completions, and achievements onchain as Moca-compatible credentials that are recognized across platforms.
Users earning certificates from Open Campus partner schools receive credentials in their Moca ID wallet, which can be presented to job marketplaces instead of sending PDFs. AI integration (via KIP Protocol) personalizes learning, with results anchored to Open Campus ID as verifiable data while maintaining privacy. Credentials can confirm course completion without revealing grades or personal information. Educational verification applications include transcript verification for job applications, training proof for licensing, and educational achievements as reputation indicators on social platforms.
Open Campus is building a consortium of schools and ed-tech companies (Open Campus Alliance), with the Moca integration aiming to make all institutional credentials part of the broader Web3 identity ecosystem. Animoca Brands’ Yat Siu, involved in the Open Campus foundation council, states this alignment “reshapes the learning landscape to be more equitable and geared toward the future.”
