Trent Merrina former professional rugby league player from Australia, has been charged in connection with a reported theft of cryptocurrency worth approximately $91,000 (AUD$140,000).
According to a report from the Sydney Morning Heraldlaw enforcement officers arrested Merrin at his Barrack Point home on November 4.
The arrest came after months of investigation into suspicious activity linked to a 29-year-old man’s crypto account. Authorities noted that Merrin moved digital assets through illicit methods to benefit financially.
