It’s been a year full of great TV shows and new moviesso much so that I’m still working on my watch list! But, as 2024 draws to a close, there are plenty of new releases to carry us through to the new year. It looks like the the best streaming services aren’t slowing down one bit, with some of this year’s most anticipated returning series and Christmas specials yet to come.
There might not be a turkey left in the fridge, but that shouldn’t stop you from watching the best Doctor Who Christmas specials after the last episode of this week. The wait is over! Squid game season 2 is here and Netflix invites us to dive back into the mortal trials this holiday season. I’ve been excited for this for so long that I was among the millions of viewers who tuned in last time and were absolutely blown away by it. Set three years after the original, protagonist Seong Gi-hun decides to return in the games instead of running away with their prize money. It’s not a decision that everyone would make, certainly, but he puts his Player 456 total on once again.
I can’t ignore my excitement for Squid gameIt’s back for more, so it’s definitely a show I’ll be watching over the holidays. It’s time for one of the the best Netflix shows back, after all!

Since Doctor Who rebooted in 2005, the British sci-fi institution has become synonymous with the festive season. Indeed, we’ve been treated to a new holiday special every year (well, almost every year) since then – and luckily, 2024 is no different.
Joy to the worldthat will air Disney Plus everywhere except the UK (it will launch on BBC One / BBC iPlayer) on Christmas Day, it will follow the eponymous Time Lord and new temporal companion Joy (BridgertonNicola Coughlan) as they explore the Time Hotel. Doctor Who Festive specials have been hit and miss over the years, and I hope this one is more of the former than the latter.

What if…? season 3 (Disney Plus)
The last season of What if…?the first animated TV show by Marvelit’s already airing as we speak. Like its predecessor, new episodes of season 3 have dropped every day since December 22nd, so you already have five to catch up (if you’re reading this on December 27th, anyway) with this one. Marvel Phase 5 TV show.
So far, I really enjoyed the stories that What if…? season 3 said, but I still feel like MCU the project was something of a missed opportunity for the comic giant. Indeed, considering the premise of this series and its comic book namesake, it could be a wilder and more creative affair. Alas, it is not and that is why it will never be part of ours the best Disney Plus shows guide

My Fault (Culpa mía) might not be considered one of the the best Prime Video moviesbut soap Young adult dramas are a guilty pleasure of mineso i have to watch the sequel Your fault. Based on the Guilty Mercedes Ron’s book series, the Spanish-language romantic drama sees Noah (Nicole Wallace) and Nick’s (Gabriel Guevara) romantic passion face new challenges as Noah leaves for college and Nick begins his career.
The first film became the most watched non-English language film First Video in 2023, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the second is so popular among viewers.

ChiefsAholic: A Wolf in Chiefs Clothing (Prime Video)
Being a well-recognized sports fan is probably a pretty cool experience, and that’s exactly what Xaviar Babudar, aka ChiefsAholic, was, with the people in the trailer above comparing him to a god. Well, until he was unmasked as a bank robber, that is. Yes, this story is pretty crazy and I really want to watch it!
When ChiefsAholic was arrested in Bixby, Oklahoma, he uncovered a series of bank robberies committed in the Midwest and opened up a secret life. His arrest is documented through his interviews and the legal journey that follows as we discover how this internet sensation robbed 11 banks stole more than $800,000 in seven states and laundered the proceeds through casinos. Even if you’re not big on the NFL, this story is wild and perfect for those who love a real crazy story. One for ours the best Prime Video shows list? Potentially.

NFL on Christmas Day (Netflix)
The wait for the NFL’s big Christmas Day games that will see the Kansas City Chiefs (who won Super Bowl LVIII) face the Pittsburgh Steelers, plus the Baltimore Ravens against the Houston Texans, ended this week when Netflix subscribers were treated. to a Christmas present with both games live on December 25th.
At the top, Mariah Carey kicked off proceedings with her Christmas carol before Beyoncé stole the halftime show with her first live performance of songs from the album ‘Cowboy Carter’. According to Nielsen databoth games became the most streamed in NFL history, with each averaging an audience of 24 million viewers. Go to sports!

I’ve never seen an alien docuseries before, but maybe it’s time to try one. I still don’t expect him to be in ours the best performances of Max list, watch out…
