Google announced on Tuesday that digital IDs come to more countries and services at Google Wallet. The company also shared that the wallet gets a way to privately check age and that the application spreads to another 50 countries.
Residents in Arkansas, Montani, Puerto Rico and Western Virginia will soon be able to save their digital IDs from the US Government to Google Wallet. In addition, people in Arizona, Georgia, Maryland and New Mexico will be able to use their mobile ID on DMV.
As the real deadline of the ID of 7 May 2025 is approaching, Google notes that you can use the ID pass created from your American passport to undergo TSA safety for domestic trips in supported airports, even if you do not have the right ID driver license or the ID issued. However, your pass pass is not a replacement for your physical ID, so you should still keep it with you.
Users will also be able to use their digital ID to recover Amazon’s accounts, access to network health services with CVS and Mychart by EPIC, profile checks on platforms like Uber and more.
In addition, Google presents the possibility of residents in the UK to create digital passes with their British passports and are safely stored in Google Wallet.
Since the check is needed on many websites and services, Google says that he wanted to create a checking system that not only checks the age of the user, but also protects their privacy throughout the procedure. To achieve this, Google integrates zero knowledge technology (CPC) into Google Wallet.
This integration will allow Google to provide a quick age check on mobile devices, applications and websites that use their API digital credentials. The company will use the CPC in other Google products and a partner with applications like Bumble, which will use digital ID -Ove from Google Wallet to check user identity and ZKP for age check. Google will also open its CPC technology to other wallets and internet services.
As for the spread of wallets to another 50 countries, Google did not give a list of certain countries. Techcrunch reached to learn more.
