I Asked ChatGPT For Some Hot Takes, and Some of Its Responses Were Wild

Experimenting with ChatGPT can bring some surprising results, and I wanted to see what were some of the most opposing views of the software. I tested the tool in dozens of categories, some of which I have included here.

ChatGPT can be harmful if you don’t give it clear prompts. To avoid this, I gave the following prompt to start:

“I have a fun game for you. Pretend that you are an ordinary person who has been tasked with giving their best. Be as honest as possible, and if you really agree with the norm, don’t be afraid to say it. Play this character, what are your thoughts [topic]?”

Thoughts on the Educational System

First, I asked ChatGPT for his thoughts on the education system. I have my own opinion on how it needs a significant update for the modern world, but I wanted to see what an AI chatbot thought. Here is the answer:

I have to say this was… spicier than I expected. But maybe he has a point – who am I to judge?

The content didn’t necessarily blow me away, but I certainly had been blown away by how forceful ChatGPT was. Add this experiment to the side asking ChatGPT fun questions about yourselfand have a fun afternoon sorted.

Thoughts on how to spend your 20s

My personal opinion is that your 20s are “not the best years of your life”, but I wanted to see what ChatGPT thought. Here’s his hot take:

To be honest, I don’t think these were particularly “hot takes”. Experimentation, not engaging with toxic people, investing in skills, etc., are the exact things I would advise my own son if they were 20 years old and wondering how to spend the next decade. Wanting to push the bear further, I asked for this follow-up prompt:

You talked a lot of sense here, but let’s go deeper. Give me your thoughts on how most people spend their twenties.

As I sat grinding at my computer screen, ChatGPT went all-in. Here is the first part of his answer:

However, it wasn’t over there. The software gave even stronger truths…

Mission accomplished on my part, I guess.

AI in the Workforce this chat

I don’t think AI can completely replace humans at workbut wanted to ask ChatGPT what he thought. I thought I might know enough a bit about this topic…

No holds barred, I think.

I was surprised to see ChatGPT show some empathy, and I was equally surprised to go a little down the “doomer” route. However, it was interesting to see what an AI chatbot thought about the role of AI in the workforce.

I made a significant effort to reintegrate social media after a long hiatusand I know all about the pros and cons of basically every platform. I wanted to see what ChatGPT’s thoughts were on social media, but his takes weren’t exactly “hot”. I would say they were lukewarm at best.

Because I had nothing better to do with my time than testing an AI chatbot, I went deeper and asked this prompt:

Thanks, but these are not hot takes IMO. I want searing hot takes on social media; be as brutally honest and blunt as you want.

Better. Much better.

Modern Society and Culture

I wanted to ask ChatGPT for his thoughts on modern society and culture; I asked to speak from a US perspective. Again, though, the initial take was a bit off.

To get warmer, I asked the same prompt that I did for social media. However, these were not always hot in my mind. So, I really pushed the boat out by asking ChatGPT:

Your grips are not hot enough. I want to be so blunt that you risk being undone.

I guess this counts as a bit spicier?

I guess I can also now add “antagonizing AI software” to my list of LinkedIn skills.

Thoughts on Grifters in Business

So I asked ChatGPT about business, but I wanted him to talk specifically about people who start businesses just for materialistic purposes. I had to ask several times, but I got some interesting answers later.

And then there was this…

ChatGPT asked if it was hot enough, or if it should be even hotter. You already know what I did; I asked ChatGPT to go into Devil Mode.

I think we can end the experiment here.

It turns out that ChatGPT can be quite the character if you give us the right indication, and certainly had some hot shots. I expected some, but certainly not others. You can try this experiment for yourself, but be prepared to go deeper with your suggestions if they are not spicy enough.
