The Power of Small Acts of Inclusion


It is important when employees have a strong sense of belonging or feel that they fit into the company: they are more engaged, more innovative and more productive. To encourage such deep inclusion, companies often try to create a warm and welcoming culture, perhaps by supporting employee resource groups or sponsoring company events such as happy hours and team outings. But it’s not happy hour that inspires you at work – not really, not deeply, not in the best of circumstances. What really matters is whether employees feel they are contributing to the work they do.
