Google Updates Its Gambling & Games Advertising Policy

Google has announced The upcoming audit of its advertising gambling policy and games, which will take effect on April 14th.

The company shared a review new guidelines before the official presentation.

We have noticed several supplements that are worth pointing out after comparing the examination with Google’s existing policy.

Below is an overview of the changes that advertisers need to know.

Stronger definitions

One of the most prominent changes is the more precise way in which policy defines “gambling” and “content that promotes gambling”.

According to the new guidelines, any content that provides direct links to the network on the network or facilitates gambling services will be indicated as gambling.

This explains that the aggregate or associated website must exclusively focus on providing information or comparisons on authorized gambling services. Everything beyond that scope will face restrictions.

Land specific requirements

Although the current policy generally refers to “Earth limitations”, the updated policy offers a detailed list of countries that allow or prohibit different forms of gambling.

These include explicitly referential nations in which adverts for gambling are completely prohibited (for example, Bulgaria, China and Egypt).

Politics also deals with the Casin Social Games. Determines which regions require a separate application for certification and confirms where the social casino ads can be launched lawfully.

New Guidelines on Mahjong & “Casino” games

The updated policy has a special clause that forbids the promotion of Mahjong activities that include money in the Asian-Pacific region. In the past, Mahjong did not explicitly mention.

Furthermore, the definition of “Network Gambling” now covers all games that are traditionally associated with casinos, even if they use virtual currencies or items with real value.

Licensing and certification

In the updated rule, Google advises maintaining valid licenses and registration.

You need to inform Google as an advertiser if your licenses are suspended, taken away or abolished. Serving ads for gambling without a valid documentation may result in the suspension of the account.

Previously, this request was established, but less explicitly emphasized.

Social casino games

Updated policy pays a lot of attention to the social casino games.

These internet games simulate gambling, but they do not offer a chance to win money or real value reward. The examination clarifies that social casinos advertisers must report to certification and retain separate accounts if they also promote gambling content in real money.

In addition, all gambling ads in real money in social games or related websites are strictly disabled.

Politics violations

Google believes that violations of social casino regulations are “awful”, which means that they could result in immediate and lasting suspensions of the account.

Although similar penalties existed in the previous policy, the update emphasizes the severity of inconsistency in the category of social casinos.

In other sections, repeated or severe violations may also result in the suspension of the account.

New Section on “Online No -Sino Game”

The updated policy differs between the general “internet nefasino games” and conventional gambling.

This separate category includes playing skills, offering advertisers greater clarity when special certificates can be applied.

According to a new policy, if a skill -based game fulfills a legal definition of gambling in a particular region, the advertiser must follow all the restrictions related to gambling and obtain the necessary approval.

What does that mean for advertisers

Advertisers who want to promote gambling, social casino services or non-As’s games need:

  1. Review licensing: Ensure that all relevant permits are current and Google knows about all changes.
  2. Get certificates: Sign in and maintain the necessary Google ADS certificates based on a particular category of gambling and target regions.
  3. Managing target countries: Advertisements that target disabled regions may be subtracted or labeled “Fulfillment of Terms (Limited).”
  4. Follow the requirements of politics: Review aggregate rules and associated places to avoid inadvertently promoting gambling activities outside the scope of local regulations.

Looking forward
