No, it wasn’t just you. The day after Christmas, ChatGPT stopped working for many.
OpenAI The flagship chatbot experienced major outages around 2 pm ET on Thursday, just as some of its users theoretically wanted something to do after getting through the Christmas rush. According to Detector Downtons of users reported that the site was not working for them in the early afternoon, although the reports started to go back after half an hour or so. That said, at the time of writing, ChatGPT is not working for me.

The outage manifests itself in different ways depending on how I try to use ChatGPT. On mobile, the “submit” button next to the text entry field was simply grayed out and did nothing. On the desktop, I can send requests, but they will immediately return with an error message.
It just goes to show that OpenAI has some torch to work with before it can achieve its own big ambitions.
