Google updated its central search documentation to include details about Ai mode In its specifications the meta robot tag.
This update matches the introduction of AI mode via Google Labs.
Updated document Now it determines that you can control the appearance of your content in Google’s features on the AI drive, including AI examinations and a new AI mode.
Key supplements to the document include:
Spreading the rules of the nostril
Nosnoppet Directive “refers to all forms of search results (to Google: Web Search, Google Pictures, Discover, AI examinations, AI mode) and will also prevent content as a direct entry for AI examinations and AI mode.”
Max-snippet control
The MAX-CSPPT rule determines that limitations are applied to “all forms of search results (such as Google Web Search, Google Images, Discover, Assistant, AI examinations, AI mode), and will also limit how much content can be used as a direct intake for AI examinations and AI mode.”
Ai mode is an experimental feature that is initially available to Google One AI Premium subscribers. This uses the custom version of the Gemini 2.0 to provide search experience fully powered by AI.
The feature uses the “Fans Fans” technique, which issues multiple related searches through sub -subcontracts and sources of data before the synthesis of a comprehensive response.
Google emphasizes the following advantages of AI mode compared to standard AI examinations:
Publishers rely on website traffic to generate revenue through ads, subscriptions or conversions. However, people may be less inclined to visit the original page when AI features summarize content.
To counteract this, you can use the “Nosnicpet” tag to block content from AI response or use “Max-snippet:[number]“To limit the amount of text shown, motivating the searches to visit the site for complete information.
Meta Tag Robots Controls offer ways to manage content in traditional search results and AI experiences.
Google’s careful presentation of AI mode shows that the company is aware of the publisher concern for using content in generative AI applications.
This update reflects Google’s effort to balance new features with the control of the publisher over their content.
