Former President Jimmy Carter will be honored with a state funeral on January 9 in Washington, DC The 39th president died at 100 on December 29and lies in state in the rotunda of the US Capitol starting Tuesday.
After the funeral, Carter will make his final journey to his home in Plains, Georgia, where he will be buried.
All major news networks will offer live coverage of Carter’s state funeral, which will take place at the Washington National Cathedral. Both Presidents Joe Biden and the president-elect Donald Trump are expected to attend, along with former Presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bushand Barack Obama.
