Prequels are difficult to be fair, but the return of George Miller to the Mad Max desert in Furious: The Mad Max Saga get it. The trailer alone is an emotional ride, so you can only imagine the action packed into the 2 hour and 28 minute movie. We have already called one of the the top five movies of 2024 (so far).
Furious debuted in theaters at the end of May, it made its way to digital services on demand only a month later, then officially started streaming on Max from August 16. Now, four months later, it has become available to a much wider audience by making its Netflix debut.

What is Furiosa: The Mad Max Saga?
A 2015 prequel Mad Max: Fury Road, Furious centers around Imperator Furiosa (played first by Charlize Theron, now by Anya Taylor-Joy). As a child, she grew up in the Green Place, an idyllic refuge where she was safe from the horrors of the desert wasteland. However, after she was taken from this refuge and taken into the horde of warlord Dementus (Chris Hemsworth), he spends his whole life trying to get home.
“Most of the aforementioned plot can be gleaned from the trailers – this Furious it’s a prequel means that he inevitably ends up the right hand of the Immortan, his ‘Imperator’ – but the past conclusions of the film have never stolen his ferocity. Instead, Miller engages in a sadistic game of expectations by playing with narrative point of view,” Mashable film critic Siddhant Adlakha writes in his magazine.

Is Furiosa worth seeing?
Furious earned a spot on our list of the best movies of 2024and other critics agree. Hon Rotten TomatoesMiller’s epic prequel has a “fresh certificate” 90 percent critic rating and 89 percent audience. It may not be done well at the box officeIt pulled in $26 million domestically in its opening weekend, but box office numbers aren’t everything.

How to watch Furiosa: The Mad Max Saga at home

Just a month later Furious: The Mad Max Saga made its theatrical debut, it became available to watch at home via video-on-demand sites such as Prime Video, Apple TV and Fandango at Home (aka Vudu). You can now buy the movie for your digital collection or rent it for 30 days. Keep in mind that once you start watching a rental, you only have 48 hours to finish it before you lose access. Furious made its streaming debut on Max on August 16, 2024. Max is the streaming home of Warner Bros. Pictures, like that Furious will join Mad Max: Fury Road as well as other recent theatrical releases from Warner Bros. You can register a Max subscription for as low as $9.99 per month, but there are also some ways you can save some money on your plan.

The best Max streaming deals for most people: Save 16% on Max with annual ad subscription

Just go to the Max app or browse Max.com in a browser, select Cricket as your provider, and enter your login credentials. So you can watch what you want at any time – including Furious. The best Max offer for students: Save 50% on Max with monthly ads for a year

The best Netflix deal for Verizon Home Internet customers: Get Netflix and Max with ads for free for a year
Verizon is giving away a full year of Netflix and Max (with ads) to those who sign up for select Verizon Home Internet plans, including 5G Home Plus, LTE Home Plus, Fios 1 Gig, or Fios 2 Gig plans. You must enroll in the perk within 60 days of your VHI purchase or later on March 2, 2025 (whichever comes first), then register the benefits directly with Netflix and Max within 90 days of enrollment. Once the year is over, the Netflix and Max bundle will resume its normal price of $10 per month, unless canceled. The best Netflix deal for Verizon Wireless customers: Save $6.98/month through Verizon myPlan
If you are a Verizon customer with myPlan, you can add the Netflix and Max bundle to your account for only $10 per month (reg. $16.98 per month). Which essentially gives you Netflix with ads for free. You’ll need an Unlimited Welcome, Unlimited Plus or Unlimited Ultimate plan to be eligible (learn more about the Verizon support page). Once you sign up for the promotion, you’ll have to go to Netflix and Max separately to set up your accounts.
The best Netflix deal for T-Mobile customers: Get Netflix Standard for free with most Go5G plans
If you’re not a T-Mobile customer, this deal alone is a good reason to switch. Not only will selected customers get Netflix Standard with ads for free (reg. $6.99 per month), but also Hulu with ads and Apple TV +. It is probably the best streaming line offered by any mobile provider. Here are the details:
You need two or more lines of any type of Go5G or Magenta plan or at least one line of Go5G Next, Go5G Plus, or Magenta MAX to secure Netflix with advertising for free. You must manually activate your subscription by logging in My T-Mobile and select “Manage add-ons”.
