I never liked mouse pads. They are practical, but they seem sticky to my eyes. Then I discovered tempered glass mouse pads, and that changed everything.

More premium than your average mouse pad

A minimalist look

Using a mouse pad felt like leaving a traditional rug in a room full of modernist furniture. Most are curvy and plush in a sea of ​​straight lines and hard angles. They are often the only piece of cloth on a desk.

Tempered glass mouse pads are made of the same materials as nearby electronics. They are also more likely to blend into the design of the desk. Mine is black, big and square. It looks more like a part of my desk than something left sitting on it. I think it would blend in even more with a glass desk than a wooden one.

Traction better than doing without

Since replacing my old mouse pad, I’m no less happy with how my mouse feels to use (however, compared to a soft mouse pad, it makes more noise).

After all, these days you can use optical mice directly on a glass desk. Mice don’t attract a lot of headlines because they’re not exciting (and rarely need replacing), but they’ve come a long way.
