Temu adds ‘import charges’ after Trump tariffs

The topic adds “import charges” for about 145% in response to Tariff President Donald Trump on the goods shipped from China, CNBC reports.

The fees cost more than the products that US consumers buy, and in some cases more than double the price of a standard order. For example, CNBC found that a summer dress sold on a topic for $ 18.47 would cost $ 44.68 after $ 26.21 in import.

Shein also increased prices, but does not conduct imports.

The moves come a few weeks after the topic and shein warned that they would increase the prices for American customers starting on April 25 in response to tariffs.

145% of tariffs on products made in China, along with Trump’s decision to end the customs exemption that enabled the goods below $ 800 to enter the US customs, disrupted both platform business models.
