The Batman 2 is delayed to 2027, but Mickey 17’s release date is moving up


If you have waited patiently to see how the story of Matt Reeves The Batman continue once the reboot sequence arrives, you will have to wait a little longer. Once it was set to open on October 2, 2026, then an initial delay caused by the Hollywood writers strike derailed Warner Bros. plans to release in 2025, but the studio has now announced that it is pushing. The Batman Part II even further back to October 1, 2027, according to Variety.

It seems the most recent change could be strategic. Variety adds that Warner Bros. rushed to fill that October 2, 2026 slot with an untitled film starring Tom Cruise and directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu.

While the fans of the ship are devastated, a nice consolation is the news that Bong Joon-Ho Mickey 17 it comes even before you expect it; is now scheduled for March 7, 2025, later delays of their own caused the original 2024 release to slip. Mickey 17 stars Robert Pattinson (who also plays Bruce Wayne in The Batman Part II) and is directly inspired by the Edward Ashton’s novel Mickey7which follows a willing and literally available employee through his many doors of death. The film also stars Steven Yeun, Naomi Ackie, Toni Collette, Mark Ruffalo and Thomas Turgoose. Warner Bros. has changed its release date By Ryan Coogler Sinnerswhich now opens on April 18, to give Mickey 17 more time on Imax screens.
