Every year we spend months researching and debating which technologies will be most important to ours List of 10 revolutionary technologies. We try to highlight a mix of items that reflect the innovation happening in different areas. We look at consumer technologies, major industrial projects, biomedical advances, changes in computing, climate solutions, the latest in artificial intelligence and more.
We’ve published this list every year since 2001, and frankly, we have an excellent track record of marking things that are poised to hit the milestone. It’s hard to think of another industry that has as much hype behind it as the technology does, so the real secret to the TR10 is actually what we decided to leave off the list.
