Threads tops 350M monthly users, after adding 30M in the quarter

Instagram Threads, Meta’s X competitor, has now grown to over 350 million active users per month, revealed the CEO Mark Zuckerberg during the Q1 2025 earnings on Wednesday. This is an increase of 30 million users from the previous quarter, when the target reported even then 320 million users.

The new figure represents increased growth, as Threads added 30 million in the first quarter of this year, compared to 20 million in the Q4 2024. It is also worth noting that in one quarter they added almost the same number of users to their network as one of his recent competitors, Bluesky. The latter, a decentralized social application, today has approximately 35 million users.

Although Threads are still small compared to the target of other social applications – Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp – its growth helps cement of its place in the ecosystem of the microblogloge application. Total, the target says that more than 3.4 billion people now use at least one of the meta applications a day.

To today’s call, Zuckerberg told investors that growth indicates topics “still on the way to becoming our next great social application.”
