Where Commerce Media Will Flourish—and Sputter—in 2025

Automakers are jumping on the sales media bandwagon

In 2024, sales media has evolved into business media when companies like United, Expedia, Paypal, and Chase launched its own advertising business based on first-party data. In 2025, Vistar Media’s Cheyney predicts, automotive brands will enter the media game.

“Before the end of June, we’re going to see an auto manufacturer announce its media network,” Cheyney said. “Most cars are now connected, so car manufacturers have to try to figure out how to attack everything without annoying their customer base, and do it in a way that’s engaging. That’s always the key.”
